어드벤쳐 타임 시즌8에도 게스트 애니메이터(외주 감독?) 에피소드가 등장할 예정입니다.
외주 에피소드들에 대해서는 사람마다 호불호가 갈리긴 하지만 이번에 막 작업을 끝낸 애니메이터들은 Lindsay, Alex Small-butera 부부라서 저는 조금 기대가 됩니다.
이들은 예전에 이미 한번 어드벤쳐 타임 에피소드를 하나 만든 적이 있었는데 그것이 바로 시즌7 29화 Beyond the Grotto였습니다. 아기자기하면서 부드럽고 뭔가 색채가 신비로웠던 에피소드로 기억합니다. 내용은 꽤 심오했지만....
아직 그 에피소드의 이름이 무엇이고 무엇과 관련되어있는지는 모르겠습니다.

We’re very humbled to announce that this year Alex and I were invited by the Cartoon Network team to direct and animate another episode of Adventure Time! We JUST wrapped on it last week, and we can’t tell you how proud we are of what we made, and we hope you’ll like it too! I mean I think you will, but I’m not the boss of you. You can do your own thing and I support you, son.
Adventure Time is slated to end after it’s next season, so to be asked to participate in some of the remaining show is extremely flattering. Adventure Time changed animation on television, and without it’s prolific run, so many of the other great shows we love wouldn’t exist either. AT also hugely supports the indie animation scene with it’s plethora of guest directors, which means a ton to our community.
As you’ve noticed, this put Baman Piderman on hold for a few months, and with all my heart and liver and parts I thank you so much for being patient and waiting for the new episode. We’d not get a chance to do this again since the show is ending, and it means so much to us to be able to contribute to something that has meant so much to animation. As a big thank you for waiting, the new BP episode is almost 13 minutes, which is.. quite a bit longer than usual. It’s a doozy and I know you’ll like it, and it’s thankfully VERY LIKELY coming out within a few weeks since it’s also almost done.
Alex and I can’t tell you how grateful we are for all the support we get from both Cartoon Network and the fans of our work. And to the wonderful Matt Cummings who was gracious enough to work with us again! It’s just the two of us running a very small operation, and every day we’re thankful for the opportunities we have and the people that check out our work. Thank you. Thank you! THANK YOU!

우리는 이번 해에도 알렉스와 제가 카툰네트워크 팀 어드벤쳐 타임의 또다른 에피소드 감독과 제작 맡았었답니다. 그 작업은 지난 주에 막 마무리되었고 우리는 우리 작업에 대해 정말 자랑스럽게 생각합니다. 여러분도 그 에피소드가 맘에 들길 바래요!
어드벤쳐 타임은 다음 시즌에서 종영될 예정이라서 저희는 몇몇 남은 에피소드는 아주아주 멋지게 만들 수 있도록 참여해달라는 부탁을 받았습니다. 어드벤쳐 타임은 TV 애니메이션 판을 바꿔놨고, 그것의 많은 에피소드들이 아니었다면 우리가 사랑한 다른 수많은 훌륭한 애니메이션은 존재하지도 않았을 것입니다. AT는 또한 수많은 게스트 디렉터를 통해 인디 애니메이션을 지원해주기도 했습니다. 다시 말해 우리 커뮤니티에도 소중한 의미라는 것이죠.

알렉스와 저는 우리 작품의 팬들과 카툰네트워크 두 곳에서 받은 모든 지원과 응원에 대해 어찌나 감사하게 생각하는지 말로 표현하기 어려울 정도입니다. 그리고 우리와 이번에도 함께해준 일러스트레이터 Matt Cummings도 정말 고마웠습니다. 우리 둘이서 준비할 수 있었던 조그마한 작업이었고 매일마다 우리에게 주어지는 이런 기회들에 대해, 그리고 우리의 작업을 손봐주는 이들에게 늘 감사하게 생각합니다. 고마워요. 고마워요! 고맙습니다!!
